BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The air carrier known as JSX, which flies 30-seat jets between Boca Raton and West Chester, New York, is ceasing Boca Raton operations on August 1st. The surprise announcement was made mid-day Wednesday.
JSX, while not as well-known as traditional commercial airlines, has a niche following in South Palm Beach County. People traveling to New York from South Palm Beach County and North Broward relied on the airline’s ease and speed to fly directly from the Atlantic Aviation building at the Boca Raton Airport, and into a hangar near the main terminal at the West Chester, NY airport (HPN). While slightly more expensive than traditional airline seats, JSX boasted ultra-fast security screening and a need to be at the airport just 20 minutes before flight time. The airline operates as a “public charter.”
In a statement to BocaNewsNow.com, JSX said that it’s terminating service at Boca Raton due to the pending destruction of its Atlantic Aviation facilities. Service continues at an Atlantic Aviation hangar near Palm Beach International Airport, and soon, Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport at 6000 NW 21st Avenue in Fort Lauderdale.
The service cessation comes at a bad time for JSX. The Boca Raton to West Chester routing is popular during summer months. The service change means hundreds of travelers who flew from Boca Raton to Upstate New York for the summer months will now be unable to return to the Boca Raton airport. Travelers are being rebooked into West Palm Beach, or offered refunds. Learn more about JSX here.
